Getting married is a very personal choice, and not something that everybody wants to do. Some people are even unsure as to whether marriage is the right option for them – which is why we’ve put together 4 good reasons to get married, along with a few not so good reasons. You can weigh up the reasons below and get an idea of whether marriage is right for you.  You Want The Same Last Name As Your Kids If you already have kids with the person you’re considering marrying, you probably want to have the same last name as them. This will unite all of you as a family – you can even get your kids involved in the wedding ceremony. Of course, this isn’t the only reason you should choose to get married, but solidifying your status as one happy family is a good reason.  2. You Want The Practical Benefits Of Marriage  There are many practical benefits of marriage, such as financial benefits. Many people choose to get married for this reason alone. Being together for years without getting married is fine if that’s what you want, but marriage can help you to become better off financially in the long haul. It’s also worth noting that if something were to happen to you or your partner, it would be so much easier for them to sort things out, and they wouldn’t have to worry about your will being held up.  3. You Want A Big Party To Celebrate Your Love/Relationship If you’ve been together for a while, you might want to throw a big party to celebrate your love/relationship. Essentially, that’s what marriage is – one big expensive party that bonds you together forever! You can start browsing here to get an idea of the entertainment you can hire for your party. Just be sure this is definitely what you want, as it’s one of the most expensive parties you’ll ever plan/throw!  4. You Know You And Your Partner Have What It Takes To Go Long Haul Deep down, you should know that you and your partner have what it takes to go the long haul together. If you can fight effectively, that’s a good sign. You should also be able to talk openly about the important stuff, like money, and have a similar view of the future and similar values.  You should also have a strong foundation of friendship underneath the relationship!  Now you have 4 good reasons to mull over, take a look at the not so good reasons below: You don’t want to be alone You don’t want to be left out You’re under pressure socially  Your family expects you to You think it will solve your relationship problems  You’re trying to prove something  Marriage will not solve any relationship problems, and getting married because you’re under pressure or really don’t want to be alone is a recipe for disaster. Make sure you’re doing it for all of the right reasons and you should live happily ever after with your partner.  Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post.
