4 Activities Every Parent Should Encourage Their Child To Do

4 Activities Every Parent Should Encourage Their Child To Do Disclosure:  This is not a sponsored post.  There are no affiliate links included.  All thoughts are my own and no other’s.  This post is now in the guidelines of the FTC. I know it can seem like children these days are under incredible levels of pressure. Every year, more reports emerge that say children are stressed and overworked. That’s understandable because as soon as they start going to school they are pushed towards the college career path. Still, there are a few activities that you should encourage them to squeeze into what can be a tight schedule. Let’s look at the best options. Write And Read From a young age, you should be encouraging your child to both read and write in their spare time. I’m not talking about learning to read and write here. Instead, make sure that they are picking up at least one book to read each month. You should also encourage them to keep a diary, a journal or some sort of record of activities and events. This is a great way to test their creative muscle, expand their vocabulary and improve their intelligence.   Learn A Musical Instrument Sometimes children don’t want to learn a musical instrument because it is hard work. It can be hard to get them to stick with it, but like other parents, I know how important it is to encourage them to tough it out. I don’t want my daughter to look back when she is older and wish that she had taken the chance at learning a musical instrument. Forcing them to do this is never going to work, but if you encourage them, and tell them how well they are doing, you might manage to get them to stick with it. You can easily help kids learn at home with great tools like the metronome app. You can find more information on Metronome app online and discover how it can help your child learn to play. Join A Sports Team Keeping healthy is going to be important for a child, and one of the best ways that a child can stay healthy is by doing sport. Joining a sports team while they are at school is a great way for them to blow off some steam, and get in a good amount of exercise. I for one know that I’m going to be attending every match that my child is a part of, and I would encourage all parents to do the same. This way, you show your child how proud you are of them, and it makes them feel good about themselves. You can’t encourage your child to do this and then not to be there to support them! One of the best ways that you can help your child to complete this activity is to be there supporting everything that they do. Special Interest Social Group A special interest social group could be anything that they are interested in. This could be debating, chess, something to do with e-sports or whatever else you could imagine. It could be online or in person. It’s so important that children form social groups and the more they have, the stronger their development will typically be. I hope you find this advice and see how these activities could help your child grow, learn and develop.
