Selling Up? How To Give Your Home Kerb Appeal

Selling Up? How To Give Your Home Kerb Appeal Disclosure:  This is not a sponsored post.  All thoughts are my own and no other.  This post is now in the guidelines of the FTC.  Kerb Appeal. Selling your house is high up on the list as being one of the most stressful times in your life. The last time I sold up, it was a pretty daunting experience which needed to be timed with military precision! Before you even sell it’s important to make your house look it’s absolute best. If your property is anything like mine, the task will be of mammoth proportions. Even though you may think your house looks amazing and will be liked by everyone who views it, your taste may not have universal appeal. I’ve put together a guide to show you how by making a few adjustments here and there, your home will become more appealing to potential buyers.   Maximize space One of the main things potential buyers look for in a home is space. Our houses can become quite cluttered with necessary, but huge items of furniture. We have a huge dining table, which takes up masses of floor space. To get round this problem you could consider putting large items of furniture into storage, just while the sales process gets going. This Website offers storage solutions on a long or short term basis. The main items of furniture, that takes up space include tables and sofas, cupboards and drawers storing non-essential items could also be put into storage.   Another way of maximizing space is by strategically placing mirrors in an area which creates an illusion of space. Also keep walls clear of too many pictures. Consider repainting walls a light color. Declutter Declutter each room in your home by tidying away anything that is on surfaces, piled into corners or on shelves. Toys are a major source of clutter, so make sure you have enough toy boxes. If toys are not played with very often they could be stored in the attic or at a storage facility. Bathrooms and kitchens are a big selling point when selling your house. Store away toiletries so that tiles look clean and sleek. Polish mirrors and clean obsessively. It would be a nice addition to display matching towels and hand wash in a nice dispensing bottle. Likewise kitchen sides should be clear of any unnecessary items, there shouldn’t be much more than a kettle on the side. Clean An unclean property is extremely off putting to potential buyers. It’s important to deep clean – ensuring that you clean window sills, skirting boards, windows, carpets and mantle pieces. Clean each room individually and don’t forget to dust away pesky cobwebs! Make sure pet bowls are cleared away before the property is viewed and eliminate any odors from pets and cooking. A fresh vase of flowers looks appealing and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee or baking bread adds a homely welcoming touch.   Once you have tackled the outside of your home it’s time to make the outside look appealing too. The addition of a pot filled with flowers at the front door looks welcoming and ensure you cut the grass and weed flower beds.   A final polish of the windows and front door and you’re ready to go! I hope the whole process of selling your home runs smoothly and that you find the property of your dreams.
