I think we can all agree that our senses are pretty important. I for one love being able to hear great music, smell beautiful flowers, Taste fine foods, and touch beautifully tactile fabrics and I’m sure that you do too. That’s why it’s so important that we take good care of our senses. If that sounds like a good idea to you, here are some simple things you can do to look after your senses each and every day: Smell If you want to take good care of your nose, so that you can keep on smelling beautiful roses and wonderful freshly baked bread, get yourself a neti pot and use it once each day. It will clean out your sinuses better than pretty much anything else. If you suffer from allergies, applying a little petroleum jelly to the insides of your nostrils will help to catch pollen before it makes its way into your system, stuffs up your nose and causes you to feel unwell Taste Your tongue, which allows you, along with your sense of smell, to taste so many delicious delicacies from all over the world, is very easy to take care of and keep healthy. As long as you brush your teeth, floss and scrape your tongue regularly, it should work pretty well for you. If you smoke, you’re probably going to want to give that up because it can blunt your taste and even cause cancers of the mouth in some cases. Another thing you can do to improve your sense of taste is to regularly taste new things you’ve never had before to keep your taste buds on their toes so to speak. Hearing When it comes to your hearing, the best thing you can do is to keep music at safe levels and protect your ears with earplugs and ear defenders when you’re going to be around loud noises like pneumatic drills or loudspeakers. You might also want to learn more about the various medications which can affect your hearing health so that you can find an alternative if it’s causing you a problem, You will, of course, need to talk to your doctor before doing that. Sight Sight is so important to those of us lucky enough to have it. It allows us to see the faces of the people we love, to look at great art and to get around with ease, so it’s important to take good care of it. That starts with a healthy diet that includes lots of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A, C and E and zinc, among other things. If you wear contacts, then taking them out as directed and keeping them and your eyes spotlessly clean is also very important. Check out these tips to help you deal with contacts effectively. They are so often the cause of eye infections that it’s really important. If you smoke, again, giving it up will help because smoking has been linked to mecular degeneration. It goes without saying that protecting your eyes from the sun with sunglasses and from debris with safety glasses, where appropriate is essential. Touch When it comes to touch, the best thing you can do is take good care of your skin by regularly moisturizing it, and eating a diet that’s rich in vitamin E and collagen. Here’s to a sensuous life! Disclosure:  This is not a sponsored post.  All thoughts are my own and no other.  This post is now in the guidelines of the FTC.
