5 things that can help you get up in the morning

None of us are strangers to that feeling in the morning when you are so reluctant to get out of bed that you’d agree to stay in bed your whole life if somebody told you that you could, and if you don’t get this feeling then you’re not human.

I am going to share some tips on how you can help yourself up in the morning:

  1. Get some early nights
Don’t have a go at me just yet! I’m not talking about getting 10 hours of sleep every night because for most people this would be impossible, however getting at least 8 hours sleep a few nights a week can really boost your happiness and liveliness in the day, and can make you more productive. This would mean that you can get more done in your day and you don’t have to waste so much of your time being sloppy and tired.
      2. Take cold showers
This may seem like your worst nightmare, but cold showers are proven to improve your blood circulation which can wake you up in the morning. They increase alertness meaning that you can be more productive in your daily routine. As well as this there are other benefits of cold showers including stimulation of weight loss, improvements of hair and skin.
      3. Look forward to things
Looking forward to certain things in your day can be enough motivation to get you out of bed, despite what you might think. Even if the thing you are looking forward to is watching an episode of vampire diaries (my favourite) or being determined to get something done. Brush away the negative thoughts and focus solely the positive ones.
       4. Eat properly
It is essential to eat well and healthily to be productive in your day. It is easy to forget to eat lunch when you have a busy schedule, but without it your brain won’t work properly and you won’t be able to get much more done. In the morning this means making sure you eat a good substantial breakfast to fuel you for your day ahead.
       5. Don’t set a typical alarm
When we hear the usual alarm sound, we instantly get negative reactions towards it and usually turn it off (well done to those of you who don’t). So why not change your alarm to something you like listening to so that in the morning the first thing you hear is your favourite artist or radio station. I use my one direction playlist so that each day I have a different song from the list. Coming up to Christmas you could use Christmas songs to get you excited for Christmas.
