3:43am

I hadn't been able to upload footages/pictures taken in Bali because I have been busy, lazing and procrastinating. Eating chips, sleeping late and binge watching all of Christopher Walken's movies. Apparently senior actors make the best movies.

Anyway, I went to Bali on april 4th and the solo trip lasted for 6 days. The journey was enjoyable, a worthy visit since I figured telling mom the truth would be better than covering up the lie. For most of my solo trips was done by conceling the fact that I didn't tell mom about it, since I know she would've said no, thus jeopardizing my plans to travel. The first single trip was Bangkok, april 2017. Right after exams, I wanted a short getaway and since I have no friends, I thought going solo would be an eye-opening experience. It was. However not so much for the whole deception part, where I had to constantly assure mom that I was with my "friends" and we were in Penang, Malaysia.

Of course she found out later on. Wasn't too happy, provided hours of free lecture before demanding me not to do it again. The second time happened, it was a 2 weeks trip to Thailand and Vietnam. I lied once again about going on a school volunteer trip to Chiang Mai, which I had once again sucessfully deceived my parents by requesting my schoolmates at the trip to send me some convincing photos (took some instagram stories and made it my own). She belived it somehow, but I figured rather to tell the truth than pretending I hadn't been there before.

Vietnam, September 2017. Spent 5 days in Hanoi, though seeing videos of the locals stealing dogs and abusing strays on the street a few days ago earned my disrespect for their culture/behaviour. I guess Hanoi was kinda fun. Not that I will be travelling to Vietnam for the next 8 years or so, but I met a few good people there.

Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Bangkok. September 2017. Met a crazy ass couchsurfer during my final week in thailand (link here to the story) and swore to never meet new people ever again.

But this just gets exciting each time.

Finally, my first solo trip of the year 2018, Bali. I have no idea how the idea emerged but I had plans for Taiwan eariler. I guess it was the lack of money and time that made the decision of going somewhere near. Don't get me wrong, Bali was by far the best expedition I've ever been. Prolly because of the detailed and comprehensive planning. (Thanks to Travefy, you can view my itinerary here)

So it'll be my honor to share some quality photos to my non-existing readers.

First up, mid morning hike to Mt. Batur.
Started off by having breakfast in the dark at approximately 3am, it was a thin slice of banana pancake with choices of coffee or tea. Then after an hour of settling down (getting to meet new friends or what I called awkwardly getting to talk because 5 of them are caucasians and I was the only asian in the group). No offence though, my singlish is the number 1 cause for misinterpretations and thus I chose to stay silent.

After breakfast, the host drove us to the carpark which we assemble our equipments to begin the hike. Basically pitch dark. Slope is extremely stable so we didn't had any problems with elevations. The ground hike lasted for about 2 hours until which climbing up the imaginary steps was extremely tiredsome and painful. Thanks to great endurance, I did it! Managed to hike 4 hours up the mountains in time for sun rise.

Climbing wasn't a problem apparently. I had major issues when descending down the slippery slopes.

I guess in Bali, their signature breakfast dish is banana pancake. Nonetheless, it's a delicious substenance.

Walked through a short-cut route via the "coldest forest" I have ever been to. Picture (front) was our trekking host for the day.

Saw some good old plantation on our way back.

And met a friend too.
There's probably a thousand more photos to upload within the day. Uploading quality photos could be such a pain in the ass sometimes. But yea, I hence have broken down the trip into different posts component.
