SINDH / INDUS VALLEY: A Time Travel Through Imagination

I believe no one will agree to what I am about to write as there is no real evidence to support my claim. So what? How much do we know about the early human history? What information have we preserved from few thousand years to how low so ever? Not much. Much of our history remains unwritten, inaccessible, and forbidden because of lack of evidence. But there must be someone to start, someone who won’t care about cold facts but will be willing to harness the energy of his imagination, and someone who will dare to travel through time.

As I am moving back and forth in time, passing from different phases of civilizations, I can see clearly the ancient land of Sindh, my home land. Rationally, I tried to link Sindh with non Aryan traditions before, but I was too biased by then. I refused to believe that a reality could be larger than me. So, reluctantly but honestly, I am attempting to present an honest account of my forbidden imaginations of time travel towards Sindh.

For the first time, I see Indus Civilization - that is Sindh’s Civilization - as an Aryan Civilization. Of course, Aryans conquered Indus Valley and were not original settlers but let us stick to them for now. They were fair color people who arrived at India and engaged in battles with the Non Aryans/Dravidians.

Dravidians have a connection to Indus Valley civilization through their deity of Shiva. There is a statue found from excavation of Mohan jo Daro city of Indus Valley (Ancient Sindh) which resembles that of Indian deity of Shiva.

Aryans, however, were more inclined to the concept of Brahmanism. As I can see, someone in the streets of Mohan Jo Daro is telling the story of Abraham to local people. That someone is a merchant who has just returned from Mesopotamia. He is telling about a story of Abraham/Abram or Ram.

Here, I am not referring to the Hindu deity Rama. That story is put into writing by a sage named Valmiki around 5th century BC. Surprisingly the Old Testament’s story of Abraham as we read it in current form was also put into writing at about 500 - 600 BC.

Consider it a concocted story from my side - but at least consider it - that the story of Abraham and Sarah is so similar to the story of Brahman and Saraswati or Ram and Sita of Indian traditions. Not just the story, the struggle, the tests of time, but also the names are so similar. It is also evident in Genesis 25:6 that Abraham sent some people away from Isaac to the land of east. This east could be India; it could be the ancient Sindh.

The Brahma and Saraswati are not just considered deities in India but their names are also preserved in the form of rivers. The two rivers, Brahmaputra River (son of Brahma) and Saraswati River are named after the same couple. And anyone familiar with history will tell that the names of the rivers much be very ancient. The people of those times would name the rivers as soon as they arrive on banks of water. Water was considered more important than their children.

Though the Brahmaputra river is one of the major rivers of India, the Saraswati river has lost its form. Its as if Sarah has been forgotten from the episodes of Abraham. It is said that the Saraswati river was somewhere near river Sutlej in present day Pakistan. There are various Indus Valley settlements found near the banks of the river which suggest that its connection with Indus Valley (Ancient Sindh) was no less than strong.

This merger of eastern and western cultures and religions into the land of Sindh is why I consider the Ancient Sindh to be Babul Brahmanism, the gateway of entrance of Brahmanism religion into India.
Along with that, I imagine Sind to be a far larger piece of land than it is today. It must be at least as big as extending to South Punjab and Gujarat regions. There is an intuition that an Indian ruler named Krishna was the king of Sindh. Since Sindh today is a part of Pakistan, the majority Hindu scholars consider Krishna as once a ruler of Gujarat only. But it’s a lie, and it’s my perception that it’s a lie, because Gujarat was also a part of Sindh back then. What really separates present day Sindh from Gujarat is a long unsurpassable marshy land named Runn of Kutch.

This, however, was not an issue back then. According to Rigveda, the most ancient Indian scripture, Krishna’s land was the land of Sindhu. The marshy land was a clear place to navigate from. Even Alexender’s forces later mention a navigable lake in that region.  And presence of Indus Valley site Dholavira city of Kutch suggests that Gujarat was a part of Indus Valley Civilization.

Finally, Sindh, the land of Indus, is Babul Islam too, the gateway of Islamic Civilization into India. Not only that but Islam which entered from Sindh was a pure Islam free from neo platonic, Persian and Mongol influences. In fact, the first translation of Al Quran, Islamic scripture, in India was done at Mansura city of Sindh, several hundred years before Shah Waliullah translated it in Persian.

Thus, the land of Sindh has adopted, groomed and matured some of the greatest religions, cultures and traditions such as Semitic, Aryan, Non Aryan (Dravidians), and Islamic. Indus Valley cannot be de linked from Mesopotamian influences and Abraham’s identity just as much as it cannot be declared as Non Aryan. In the world of imagination and time travel, I find my homeland to be at the cross roads of these greatest civilizations. Out of them some have died away such as Abraham’s link with Indian Brahmanism, while some are breathing their last, and some are struggling but surviving through the layers of time.
