Glass Stove Top and Oven Cleaning Hacks You Need To Try

Chances are Cleaning the house isn’t exactly your favorite activity. But you have to do what you have to do, so you eventually accept your fate (or hire a professional maid). Yet there always remains that one chore you avoid at all costs.

For many people, it’s cleaning the Oven and stovetop.

No matter how annoying, it has to be done. The stove and oven are among the most used appliances in your house and require regular cleaning and maintenance.

So here are a few stove and Oven Cleaning Hacks that might make this task a little less dreadful. They should help you do it as fast and as efficiently as possible — so you can get onto more fun things.

Stove and Oven Cleaning Hacks #1: Use a Drip Pan

The drip pan is basically your safety net when it comes to keeping your oven clean. If you are making something that is likely to overflow, simply put a drip pan (or oven liner) underneath it. This way you won’t end up with those lovely charcoal black spots that are almost impossible to get off — instead simply wash the drip pan.

Likewise, you can also use a baking sheet in the same manner. So when something spills, it will fall on the sheet and your oven (even the drip pan) will remain clean. Simple solutions are always the best!

Stove and Oven Cleaning Hacks #2: Always Cover Your Food

You can also cover the food you are cooking with a lid or foil and prevent any overflows at the source. This should prevent the food from spilling and splattering all over the oven.

When spills happen, you often spend more time cleaning than preparing food. It’s a nightmare. That’s why preventing your oven from getting dirty in the first place is the best and most efficient way to actually keep it clean.

Stove and Oven Cleaning Hacks #3: Don’t Procrastinate

You are making dinner, afterward, you have to deal with the kids — you don’t really have time for cleaning — you’ll do it later. Tomorrow. Next week. Or, you know, some time.

And when that dreaded time finally comes, the burnt remains of food are firmly stuck to the stove and the oven. In the end, you will have to spend much more time cleaning the oven and stove — you could have prevented that.

So no matter how busy you are, how tired or hungry you are, do your best to clean messes as they happen — it’s the quickest and the least painless way of keeping your stove and oven clean.

Of course, just make sure the stove or the oven are cool before you start cleaning them

Stove and Oven Cleaning Hacks # 4: Turn Up The Heat

If you aren’t a good listener and allowed the messes to dry — loosen them up with heat.

To clean your oven more quickly, put a pot of boiling water in it for 15 to 20 minutes, and keep the oven door closed. The steam from the boiling water should help loosen the dried food particles and make cleaning quicker and easier.

Sadly, this method is not so easily applicable to cleaning the stove top. Yet, in any case just make sure you use hot water while cleaning it as it will still help loosen stuck on food.

Cleaning your stove is by no means fun or easy, but you can make it just a bit more tolerable by following the above tips. Or, if you are dead set on not doing it, hire a professional like Big City Maids — they will have everything spic and span in no time.
