Weary, oh so Weary. My body feels it. My mind feels it. My emotions feel it. And yes, my soul too. This turmoil just does not end.

Yesterday I was blessed by Jill Briscoe's message on Moody Radio, "Fresh Faithfulness." Sometimes life becomes so painful and chaotic. I might say "God, why are you hurting me?" This is wrong thinking. Don't get God and life mixed up. The Bible says that God is faithful.

"If any man lacks wisdom, let Him ask of God who gives generously to all WITHOUT FINDING FAULT." James 1:5

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6

Great is God's faithfulness. His mercies are new every morning.

Yesterday I also was blessed by Allan and Margaret Stokka. They called us up in the middle of the day and spontaneously invited us to go boating with them on Lake Ashtabula. Perfect. We had a picnic of egg salad on rolls, chips, and Sprite. Throw in a couple of cookies and some coffee and we had a perfect picnic on an unusually warm October day. Then we casually boated along the shores of Lake Ashtabula, enjoying the fall colors. Follow that up with a half hour of casting the fishing lines in while the sun was setting. Peace. Calm joy. Medicine to the soul.

Jesus, You who are trustworthy and loving and strong, I commit to you the troubles that surround me. I leave them in Your hands. Though You are not the author of confusion, but of peace, You do allow life to happen to me. In the midst of this life, You are in control of my safety and well-being. I lean on You, willing to submit under Your watchful and loving care. Thank You for Your faithfulness.
