Years ago I bought my first pair of high Waist black flare jeans. I wore them so many times that they started to show the wear. The brand never made an updated version and I never found another pair I liked as much… until I tried on these black Pants. I was instantly obsessed! The double waist band makes them ultra high waist, which I find to be very flattering to create that hourglass silhouette. They’re mostly cotton but have a hint of spandex in them, which gives them the perfect amount of stretch to hug my curves. Oh, and they’re on sale!

You’ll no doubt be seeing me in these pants as much as you used to see me rocking my old high waist black jeans years ago. To kick thing off, I wanted to show how you can take them from work to Weekend with two black and white summer looks…

work

For work, I kept things simple with a white button down. The shorter sleeve makes it summer friendly but still appropriate for meetings where you feel uncomfortable going sleeveless. I like the lightweight material because it blouses over the high waist, giving it a more relaxed vibe. Since the wide leg pants have a slit, they show off whatever shoes you have underneath. I did a classic nude pump to give the black pants a lighter feel.

weekend

I used gingham to make the pants summer ready for the weekend. Since they have such a high waist, I was comfortable wearing a teeny crop top cami. I’ve been all about black and white with a pop of color this summer so I added my fave red lipstick with a matching red bag to brighten the outfit.
