Actor Roger Moore, who died earlier today at age 89, was best known for his role as secret agent James Bond in seven feature films - Live and Let Die (1973), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983) and A View to a Kill (1985). He also starred in five television series - Ivanhoe (1958-59 British series), ABC's The Alaskans (1959-60), ABC's Maverick for one season (1960-61), The Saint (1962-69 British series) and The Persuaders! (1971-72 British series).

Moore was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1999 and a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) in 2003. And he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007.
