CHAPTER 1:

HOW TO Study SMART

Are you stuck in your dorm room studying until 12:00 at night? Are you struggling to manage your time well? Well, look no further, because here are 5 study tips GUARANTEED to help you to Study Smart.

1. Use Focusing Apps

Honestly, if you want to increase your productivity this is the way to go. Use apps like HeyFocus and Freedom to increase your productivity. These apps block applications and websites, even in the fabled incognito mode. Focus and Freedom both offer free trials and if you like what you see, you only have to pay a small price for a better study life

2. Take Breaks (Use a timer)

Have you ever heard that the longer you study non-stop, the less effective the studying will be? This is why I reccomend the Pomordoro method, a method inwhich you either work for 25mins, take 5 mins break. Or you could work for 50mins and then take a 10 minut break. You can install the Pomordoro timer on the chrome webstore or just use a regulary, good old-fashioned timer.

3. Make a To-Do list (Prioritised)

This is another great way to increase productivity. Make a todo-list before you start studying and prioritise the items on your to-do list before you even put the pen to the paper. If you are busy that day, write tasks on a calendar and always try and do the written work first before you even touch electronics.

4. Organise Your Materials First

Do you really want to go hunting for those geography notes in the time you are supposed to be studying? Organise your files and notes in a organiser so whenever you need to study you can set your organiser down on the table. If you want to be really organised, arrange your files into separate sections of the organiser and then preceed to start studying

5. Destress Before Studying

This is very important. If you are stressed before studying it will be very hard for you to Study Smart. I reccommend having a cool drink (Try not to drink Coffee if it's later than 3pm) and reading a bit before starting studying. Even though it can be tempting to just start studying already, you don't have much time, but destressing is very important before studying

Are you looking for a few apps/extensions to maximise productivity? Well, look no further because here are 5 apps/extensions focused on making the best use of your time

PART 2: SOME APPS AND EXTENSIONS THAT WILL MAKE PRODUCTIVITY GO THROUGH THE ROOF

1. HEY FOCUS

As I've said before in previous posts, heyfocus is an extension that's motto is "discipline over motivation" this means that they are trying to say that it is really hard to always focus just on motivation and you need an enforcer to help carry out your focusing plan. Hey Focus even uses a "Hardcore mode" in which users CANNOT STOP HEY FOCUS. Try this feature at your own risk. This is a paid app but definitely has bang for your buck! Overall my favourite App/Extension on this list

2. RESCUE TIME

This may not be as much an enforcer as hey focus, but this extension/app measures the amount of productive and distractive time, giving you a little wake-up call on how much distracting time you have.

3. COLD TURKEY

An app that helps you to focus. It banns apps and websites that are considered distracting and the best part is that is free! This makes it the free alternative to Hey focus (Which is a paid application with a 30-day free trial)

4.TRELLO

Instead of solely banning websites, trello utilises the listing technique by giving you a modern take on a To-Do list

5. STAY FOCUSED

One of the best chrome focus extensions out there. Stay focused helps users to plan their time out on scheduled timers and even has a "nuclear mode" where it is stated that StayFocused will be unstoppable in this mode! It is free and in the Chrome Webstore

CHAPTER 3: PRODUCTIVITY MAXIMISING LISTING HACKS THAT GET IMMEDIATE RESULTS

Do you find yourself wondering: "What should I put on my checklist" or "Why is my checklist so ineffective?" If yes, then you have come to the right place! Here are 5 productivity maximising listing hacks that get immediate results. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!

1. Use the "Apple tree" technique

While this may sound a bit quirky, the apple tree technique is a theory that is basically saying that you pick the lower apples first before you get your ladder and reach for the higher ones. It means that you should do tasks that will take less time to complete first before doing harder tasks, because if you do it the other way around the apples at the bottom of the tree may be disrupting your work and you really don't want to do like, 5 easy tasks after one major hard task. That is why this is one of the most effective listing techniques

2. Paper First

Even though these days many people use the computer to do their work, I find that it is more effective to do any written work first before doing online work. This may be because I usually get more distracted when I am online rather than offline. Whenever you make a list try to put written work first.

3.Prioritise your checklist

Many people simply put down things they want to do and do not prioritise them. This is less effective because when you do not know which order to do the items on your checklist, you may not have as much of a workflow or effective order. That is why prioritising your checklist is of utmost importance and something I make myself do all the time.

4.Offline Checklist PLEASE

I get it, it is far more convenient for you to make an online checklist, but an offline checklist (In my opinion) is a far more effective way for you to check your checklist rather than simply going onto reminders/stickies. Adding on to the point, online checklists are easier to manipulate, meaning that you can just close the application and the checklist will be gone. That's why I strongly recommend using an offline checklist

5.Use Online Reminders With an Offline Checklist

Even though I said that using an offline checklist is a bad thing, which in my opinion it is, but only by itself. I think that if you use an online application such as reminders to remind you of the offline things you put on your offline checklist, adding both of these tools will really maximise productivity. Some of these apps could be Reminders, Trello, Todoist, Calendar, etc...

So there you have it, 5 productivity maximising listing hacks that get immediate results. Use this guide and your productivity will go through the ROOF! CHAPTER 4: HOW CAN I GET BACK IN THE STUDYING ZONE AFTER A BREAK?

Are you struggling with getting back on task after a break? Are you frustrated with how it takes so long for you to get back into the studying zone? Well, then you've come to the right place. Here are some top tips on how to get back into the studying zone after a break.

1. Don't do something time consuming during your break

I know we all love to watch sports, watch youtube, or even watch TV in the middle of our breaks, but doing something that is time-consuming really does not help while you are in your break. This is because a)Your heart rate will most likely increase, b)You will be stimulated by these activities, and c)It is hard to put away these breaktime activities.

2.Start With something simple

Say you have Maths, English, and Social studies work to do after your break. Well, if you are more comfortable doing social studies, start with that rather than doing a difficult subject that will easily frustrate and tire you. I have learnt this from experience and trust me, it helps a lot when I do something simple after my break

3. Spend time at the end of your break reviewing what you have to do

Sometimes you don't want to have to look at this long list of things to do when you have just finished your break. That's why I recommend looking at your checklist before the work pours down on you. Also, try and get mentally prepared and consider doing the 4-7-8 breathing technique where you breathe in for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 7 seconds, and breath out for 8 seconds. This has been very effective for me and will help you to calm down before looking at your checklist

CHAPTER 5

THE ULTIMATE STUDY STRUCTURE THAT BOOSTS PRODUCTIVITY IMMEDIATELY

Are you having trouble managing your time in the weekend? Are you frustrated with all those other blogger websites that force you to concentrate on work and just do the hard grind? Well, then this post is for YOU  this is the Ultimate Study Structure to Increase Productivity!

(Make a checklist of what work you have to do see this post for more ideas on how to make a checklist)

PART 1: THE BUILD-UP

The first thing that you have to do in this Study Structure starts with something simple. This is because if you start with a  subject that is challenging and difficult, you wouldn't be able to get into the study zone as quickly. That is why I am recommending that you should start with the easiest subject and depending on the difficulty, give yourself around 20-40 minutes.

PART 2: THE MINI-BREAK
At this point, you should be feeling pretty good, but maybe you feel a bit tired. Take a 5-minute break in which you grab a  bite to eat or read a book. DO NOT do something that is stimulating such as gaming or TV, but does something that will calm yourself down before you start the hardest part of this study structure.

PART 3: THE GRIND

This is easily the hardest part of the study structure. Do your best and do the hardest leg of the study structure. DO this for maybe 40 minutes to 1 hour. Take a drink or a snack with you to relieve yourself while you are working.

PART 4: THE GREEN BREAK

This is the time to relax. This break should be around 20 minutes long. Go downstairs and take a look around in nature. Maybe organise your workspace and talk to friends. This, not a time to be staring at a screen. This is the time to get around in nature and socialise with friends. Come back to study 5 minutes earlier to prepare.

PART 5: THE FINAL STRETCH

Congrats, if you have done all the parts of the ultimate study structure you should be feeling pretty good. This is where you finish the last of your homework and you also should use this 30-40 minutes to tie up any loose ends and be done with your homework. If you finish especially early, organise your homework and your bag

So there it is. The ultimate study structure. Remember, this is just my personal opinion. Feel free to leave your thoughts and advice. Also, click the subscribe button to receive email notifications whenever I post. Have a pleasant day.
