Life Update: My New Focus, becoming a Public Figure and having Kids

Many things have happened (physically and in my mind) and I wanted to do a life update for you guys. Blogging no longer represents an online platform to me but a community with which I grow. So here are the things I have been up to lately and hope you can share yours when you are done reading this post.

I'm done with Instagram!

That's a harsh one to start with. But I'm just tired of putting up with the follow and unfollow on Instagram as well as the low traffic it brings to my blog. One day I'm at 390 followers and the next day it's down to 379. And it keeps getting low or just stays the same even when I have new followers because I get as many unfollow that week.

See, I don tire. I have used all the Instagram tips I have come across. My picture quality has improved, I do interact (which does work but the rate of unfollowing is just too much), I share content about my activities and I also motivate on my Instagram page.

I don't think that I'm that boring on Instagram because honestly there are more boring people who have a huge following than I do.

I'm glad to have more than 300 people following me already. Trust me it has been difficult to get to that number. But I will not come and kill myself for Instagram. I'm no longer taking any advice on how to grow my Instagram neither am I going to compare myself to anyone again. No more!

All I'm going to do on Instagram is to be the best version of myself and post when and what I want to. No stress about themes. Just me. I'm not leaving Instagram. At least not yet. I love being on Instagram and I still have more than 300 followers who love my content and want to see more.

Focusing on Facebook

I'm focusing on my Facebook page and groups for now. I've been more active on my Facebook page in the last weeks. To think that I was one of those who thought that Facebook is dying and Instagram is the new place to be (which is true but not in Cameroon).

I recently found out that Cameroonians are still very active on Facebook and only a few are on Instagram.

Facebook is a platform for building communities and I want to build a more solid relationship with my online family. I want us to motivate each other and learn from our challenges so that we can grow together. I also want to support young girls out there to dare to follow their dreams. That is my dream too.

That's why I created this group on Facebook which you can join by clicking here. If you want to develop yourself and know how to be the best version of yourself then join me on Facebook here. There I share daily motivation, resources for self-improvement, tips and career opportunities in Cameroon and in the world.

I became a Public Figure

Yes, because I said so. Lol. I feel like a public figure now. So I made myself one. I don't need to be that famous to become a public figure. I'll be doing many things in the future aside from blogging so I got the appropriate title to cover all my activities and future endeavours.

A public figure can get into any activity without looking like s/he is getting out of their domain of activity. I want to do new things and make new achievements in other domains.

I broke out of the spirit of disorganization

I am usually a very organized person but the past months have been rough especially the month of April. I focused so much on finding my purpose and creating better content for you guys that I didn't even care about my home.

I had clothes littered all around and cleaning up became more than a chore to me. But finally I was done with my content planning and these past few days I have been organizing. I am so proud of myself. And this has made me realize that it didn't take just a day to become disorganised, it takes many little actions like not washing dirty clothes until they become a pile of dirty clothes.

The cleaning took days and I am not yet done but so far I am proud of what I have accomplished so far.

I need more time before I start having kids

I wanted kids by next year but for some time now I've been reconsidering that. I feel like waiting for some years before I become a mum. This surprised me because most of those who know me have already heard me say 'I'm having a kid in 2019'.

I want to focus on my career as a blogger because I want to travel and experience many things in life and I really want the freedom to do that without having to choose between my kids and my profession.

I also want the best for my kids and that means providing for them and giving them most of my time. That's why I dream of working full time from home so that I can be there and take care of them. But in order to do that well, I need to build the foundation of my career and take my place in the blogging world in Cameroon.

My dream is to blog full time in a few years to come, earn a full-time income from it, be around my kids to watch them grow and raise them well.

For now, I want to try new things, learn new cultures, live new experiences and become an expert in what I do. I want to construct the good life that I imagine for myself. A beautiful 4 bedroom apartment, a home office and a balcony from where I can peacefully sip some wine in the evenings. What a beautiful sight.

I want to experience all these things with just myself before I start having kids.

These are the major changes I am facing with my life now fam. I noticed that they are more career life updates after writing this post.

I hope to make more life updates whenever there is a change in the future. Please comment below if you want to see more of this kind of posts and share with me what you have been up to recently. I will be more than glad to read about what's been happening to you.
