Chances

"Take a chance because you never know how perfect something might turn out."
I strongly believe that everything happens in this life because of chance. A chance to live, a chance to grow, a chance to Love, etc. Sometimes, taking a chance means that we are making a big life change and it is pretty scary. However, there's one thing which is scarier, namely regret. Just because we fear of the consequences, we ignore the chances given to us and end up in regret. Always remember that fear is temporary but regret is forever.

Me, myself, I have regrets which up until now I still can't let go. It still hurts me everytime I think of it like "If only I could turn back time" and a list of what-ifs.

Often, people think that if they missed out on a chance, there'll be a second chance. I'm sorry to tell you that not everything has its second chance. I was once given a chance to meet the president. I was having finals and being afraid of the consequences, I denied the chance causing me to live in regret. I believed that there would be a second chance but that second chance doesn't come up until now.

The same thing when it comes to love. When you're given a chance to love, love hard. Never mess things up cause you won't always get a second chance because giving someone a second chance is like providing someone with another bullet after they missed shooting you the first time. Sometimes you'll get a second chance and if someone gives you a second chance, be sure to grab it tight. They have shown you a reason why you should keep them and it's your turn to show them why they should keep you. The worst thing in life is to see someone live, seeing us as the biggest regret in their life.

I used to give people second chances and yet I end up being hurt the same way. I believed that everybody deserves a second chance because people aren't perfect. They make mistakes. However, as time passes, I learn that not everybody deserves a second chance. You have to think more than twice before you finally decide to whether they deserve the second chance. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice with the same mistake, shame on me.

To conclude, I believe in second chance but I don't think everybody deserves it. Just because you love somebody so much, doesn't mean that you should always give them a second chance. Learn how to let go. Don't hold onto something which hurts you and never let yourself be fooled by meaningless apologies over and over again. Once is more than enough. You're still young and your journey is still long. You deserve better.
