Day 1: Family Staycation at Whiterock Beach Hotel, Subic, Zambales

Ever taken for granted the resorts nearby ‘coz all you ever wanted was to try the trending places that were just posted and shared by your friends on social media? I kind of regretted the moment my happy and excited feet stepped on Whiterock Beach Hotel + Waterpark premises. “Bakit ngayon lang kami nagpunta dito?” Even my husband asked me “Why you never booked this place each time we plan for an outing?“ So there, finally we did! On January 5, just in time when my husband is on vacation, we booked the Seaside Deluxe for an overnight stay and tagged my mom along with us, and her eldest sister who was also visiting our place that week.  Occupancy Good for two can accommodate a maximum of 4pax, however, extra person charge applies. In our case, we were allowed to house 6pax since 2 of us are kids. Extra mattresses were also provided to us. The bathroom I love that the room has a separate shower and toilet, with hot and cold. You know how mommy life it could be when you are with children. They also tend to feel the call of nature when you also feel the need to have your much needed “me time” inside the bathroom. Amenities Wi-fi, TV, hairdryer, bottled water, slippers, toothcare kit, minibar, 24 hours front desk and housekeeping service. Location We were also lucky to get a good view fronting the beach, infinity pool, and plunge pool. Room rate Php10,800 per night, extra persons charged at Php1,950 each. Other rates can be found HERE. Here’s a short video clip tour of 3 of the rooms that I was able to take before we checked out the next day. As soon as we settled in, we went to Sunset Resto for lunch, and oh boy, it felt like it was my last meal for the day! Baked Salmon Platter is looooove! Food was really great with generous servings, good for sharing but yeah, I didn’t share with anyone of ’em hahaha! My husband and I also had a few rounds of beer before we headed to the Giant Wave Pool with the girls. This was what they had been looking forward to, by the way, the wave pools! I guess we were too excited to dip in the wave pool that we have forgotten its schedule and came too early for the last run, which was at 5:00pm. But it’s okay, we were able to capture more photos around the area while waiting. I wish our Internet connection would cooperate with us the soonest so that I could also share the video clips that my younger daughter has put together. Will definitely update this post soon! Right after getting ourselves soaked and surfed up from the Giant Wave Pool, my 2 girls braved the heights and tried the Zipline. My husband had to do the same so they were convinced haha! One proud mama here! My girls did it! So proud of them! My younger daughter, given her weight at 22kgs, was sooooo brave that when she got stuck in the middle, she stayed composed and waited calmly until she was given help from the other end. For an 8 y/o, it was an achievement which made me prouder that moment. In the photo with them is Kuya Gelo, a very kid friendly attendant at the Zipline. He was so cool and waited for my elder daughter until she was ready to be pushed to the other end. In fact, we met him again the next day by the poolside and playground and he waved and smiled at us. Above photo: Overlooking view from where the Zipline starting point is. That was how our half day of the Day 1 went. After the Zipline activity, we all went back to our room, taken rest and headed to the same restaurant for dinner. We stayed in the resto quite long as we were entertained by the Trio who serenaded us with some oldie songs. My bad, I wasn’t able to get the name of their group and forgot to click snaps. All in all, everyone had a good time in just a few hours of staying. Please standby for more kwentos and experience on my next post, Day 2.
