These lovely loafers remind me of my first pair of Vaneli shoes from the late 80s! My mom bought me gorgeous red leather Vaneli flats with asymmetrical cross straps for school spirit days (Go PHS Big Reds!). Even back then, my mom knew good shoes were worth the investment.  I had narrow feet and they fit me like a glove (in fact, they looked a lot like this current Vaneli style). Fast forward a few decades and here I am again in red Vaneli shoes.

The Vaneli Acajou moccasin loafer is simply eye-catching due to the attention to detail: top-quality suede, whipstitched topline and a bow with tasseled ends. Now that the weather is turning cooler, I prefer a shoe with more coverage than a typical ballet flat and the lower vamp style of the Acajou makes it a great transitional shoe for fall.

The footbed (non-removable) is lightly padded and sits atop a flexible shock-absorbing rubber outsole that wraps up the back of the loafer to protect it from those pesky driving scuffs.  Arch support is minimal in this particular style, so keep in mind if that’s a dealbreaker for you.

What I like most about the fit of my Vaneli shoes is the moderately roomy toe box combined with a snug heel (just like my original pair). My toes (bunions, hammertoes and all) don’t feel cramped and the shoe doesn’t slip off my narrow heels.

Vaneli specializes in serving the hard-to-fit customer. Many styles are available in narrow (AA) width and even a few in super slim (AAAA). Don’t fret if you wear a wide width, size 4 or 13– you’ll find Vaneli shoes available to fit your feet too!
