I first saw Erin G. wearing Earth Brand Shoes five years ago when she was my oldest son’s 5th grade teacher. When a teacher wears a comfort brand that we endorse here on Barking Dog Shoes, we pay attention! I made a mental note to ask her to review a pair…and then lost that mental note. Thankfully my youngest son was lucky enough to have Erin for his fifth grade teacher and here she is to review two Earth Brand shoes. Thanks, Mrs. G!

First up is the Earth Sweetpea, a 2 3/4″ wedge sandal with a 1″ platform.

“Honestly, they’re the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever slipped my feet into,” Erin raves. She likes the way the soft leather uppers envelope her feet without any uncomfortable rubbing. Often with heels, you’re ready to kick them off at the end of the day, but not so with the Earth Brands Sweetpea–Erin wore them for a full day of teaching and her feet felt great from 8:30-3:30! She was ready to wear them again the next day. In fact, she plans on taking them on her vacation to California, “They’re great for both work and summer outings.”

Erin notes that the Sweetpea provides comfortable support for her high arches, yet the vamp doesn’t constrict across the top of the foot (which can be an obstacle with high arches). As far as fit, the Earth Sweetpea runs true to sizes and fits her slightly wide foot to a tee. She states that the sandal may feel a bit loose on narrow feet.

Another bestseller from Earth Brand shoes is the Hera sandal. Here’s Erin’s take:

“I love the look of this shoe! It’s perfect for work, yet it can be worn with a casual outfit too.” Erin says about the sophisticated Earth Hera sandal.

Erin notes that the Earth Hera has moderate arch support, like the Sweetpea, and carries her through a long teaching day in comfort. She appreciates the elastic goring inset in the upper as it provides a little give for wider feet (this is hidden well, definitely not conspicuous). There’s also elastic goring in the ankle strap for a good fit.

The ankle strap fastens with a hook and loop closure (velcro), but is secure and makes for easy on and off.
