The Lidless Flagon from the Five Dynasties (A.D. 907~960) was made over 1,000 years ago, but its design is still amazing. As the body and the lid are joined, the lid cannot be removed. The wine is injected into the flagon through a hole at the bottom of the pot — the eye of the plum flower — but it does not seep out of the hole. The pot doesn’t only have this delicate function; its color, the patterns on the body, and its animal design all make it extraordinary.
