The Indian Navy will carry out coastal defence exercises to test its maritime capabilities ten years after the Mumbai 26/11 attack.
The war game ‘Sea Vigil’ will be undertaken along the entire 7516.6 km coastline and Exclusive Economic Zone of India involving all the 13 coastal states and Union Territories along with all maritime stakeholders, including the fishing and coastal communities.
“The scale of the exercise is unprecedented in terms of the geographical extent, the number of stakeholders involved, the number of units participating and in terms of the objectives to be met,” the Indian Navy said in a statement.
The aim of the exercise is to provide a realistic assessment of maritime strength and weakness and combat multiple terror attacks through the sea route. Read More
