Some Content Marketing errors.

Content Marketing is a way of creating the high quality and value of a brand while it is being promoted. For some decades now, many companies and businesses have adopted this idea which is fast becoming one of the best methods of improving marketing and sales. However, it is not working for some. Just because it is the rave of the moment or everybody is doing it doesn't mean that it is working for everyone. A deep look into why many businesses fail at content marketing reveals some of the following reasons.

1. Little Knowledge about internet and social media.

It is observed that many companies or individuals who intend to adopt content marketing fail to really recognise which social app is best for content marketing, which social app has large community, how to develop the page or even which section of the social media is good for promoting business or brands. Most of the social media including facebook and twitter have sections where one can easily input his business statistics and qualities  that best describe it, but they fail to explore these provisions because of the lack of familiarity with the social apps. They only see a page and create a  content and post, once posted, the content is hardly viewed by users before the incoming posts push it up and that amounts to waste of time and energy. Although it is part of promotion but In content marketing, there should be a dedicated page which is accessible to buyers easily at a click.

2. Poor traffic attraction, promotion and subscription.

Some companies that understand how to use the social media lack the strategy to pull traffic. Pulling traffic is the process of inviting more people to visit your page. And to achieve this, there should be constant promotion on social media, emails and blogs, especially the popular social media such as facebook, linkedIn, twitter, google+, pinterest, instagram etc. The brand ambassadors are also important  in promoting the brand as they make it known to their many fans and followers but so many companies fail to motivate these ambassadors. It is also observed that those who pull traffic could not even make the traffic stay glued or attracted to the content. The traffic will only visit and leave without even subscribing, the subscription guarantees that the subscribers get updates or reminders about any content posted.

3. Lack of experts in handling content marketing.

Some companies leave the content marketing to inexperienced staff who have just ideas about social media, not minding the content. Content marketing is beyond manufacturing words and posting online. Not even in the world where buyers have choices as they engage in more research before subscribing or purchasing a product. It is advisable to engage good marketers who understand the product and able to give buyers engaging content.

4. Lack of proper teamwork

Yes, lack of proper teamwork. Every brand has designers and producers. In many businesses, there is little or no communication among these designers and producers and are not even carried along in the content marketing. This is also affecting the marketing as they are supposed to contribute to the content and strategy, give quality details of the brand or make corrections where necessary.

5. Low funding.

Most companies who fail in content marketing are observed to overlook the essence of throwing more fund or allocating encouraging budget to content marketing. As the saying goes 'what you pay for is what you get'. Funding simply dictates the extent at which the content will travel to in the media. Funding can also assist in acquiring a bigger fan base as it helps with consistency in promotion in a world filled with competition.

6. Lack of sincerity.

"Sincerity makes the very least person to be of more value than the most talented hypocrite". (CHARLES SPURGEON).
When a company is not sincere in its content, and the brand falls below customer's  expectation as described in the content, the company loses its credibility, and therefore it may attract many discouraging comments to other buyers, who tend to even spread unpleasant messages to other prospective subscribers and customers. Some buyers make up their minds after going through others comments and reviews of the product.

7. Impatience.

Many believe that after allocating huge budget and being everywhere promoting the content, the result should be quick, it doesn't work that way, the result is gradual. Napoleon Hill once said "Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success".

There are so many other points that may lead to failure in content marketing, but if a company can focus more on these points, there will be positive change and improvement.
