This stunning case of a women losing her Money in a faulty Atm Transaction has been the buzz of Bangalore news today. The court decided against the complainant Vandana a SBI account holder. SBI banking rules clearly state that an ATM card is non-transferrable and no other person apart from the account holder should use it.

Go Through SBI New ATM Rules, You may Face Problem in ATM Transaction-
It all started in the year 2013 when vandana was on maternity leave. She gave her SBI ATM card to her husband to withdraw an amount of Rs 25000. Rajesh kumar, her husband visited the nearest SBI ATM in the marathali area. He swiped the card and entered the required amount. Although the ATM did not release any amount the ATM Slip showed that money has been debited from her account. When he did not get the money Rajesh kumar called the customer care which assured him that it was an ATM fault and the money would be credited to the account in 24 hours. When they didn’t receive the money even after 24 hours they lodged a formal complaint. SBI closed the case citing that the customer got back the amount. When they did not receive the money both husband and wife approached SBI bank which denied their claim for refund. According to the Bank the account holder was not using the ATM. Therefore her claim stands rejected.

They approached the Bank Ombudsman which rejected their claim on the plea that the card holder has shared her pin.
Not to accept defeat vandana approached the additional district consumer redressal forum in 2014. The case dragged for a good 3 and a half years and in its final verdict on 29th may the court ruled that Vandana should have given a self-cheque or an authorisation letter to withdraw the said amount instead of sharing the pin.
