Xiaomi Redmi Note 5: Everything you need to know about it

After being rumored for a couple of weeks, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is now finally official. At an event held in New Delhi, Xiaomi India launched its next budget smartphone along with Redmi Note 5 Pro and MI Tv 4.

Talking about the specifications of the smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 sports a 5.99-inch full-HD display on the top along with 18:9 aspect ratio. The resolution of the display is 1080 x 2160 pixels. Also, the display is protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC which is clocked 2GHz, coupled and comes along with Adreno 506 GPU.

There are two variants are available for the smartphone, the first one features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, and the other one houses 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal storage. Also just like the Redmi Note 4, the smartphone has a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel.

Coming to the camera section, The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 sports a 12-megapixel camera at the rear
panel. The rear camera sports an aperture of f/2.2, a 1.25-micron pixel size, PDAF, EIS, and an LED flash module. On the front panel, the smartphone has a 5-megapixel sensor with an LED selfie-light module and Beautify 3.0 beautification tech for better selfies. The rear panel camera is also capable of shooting 1080p/720p video at 30 FPS or Frame Per Second. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 also runs MIUI 9 along with Android Nougat and packs a battery of 4,000mAH.

However, it does not come with any physical buttons on the front panel just like the Redmi Note 4. The smartphone has on-screen controls which allowed the Redmi Note 5 to be a truly full-screen display smartphone.

Talking about the pricing, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5’s 3GB/32GB device is priced at Rs. 9,999, and the 4GB/64GB variant is priced at Rs. 11,999. In addition to that, the smartphones are available in Black, Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold colour options. Also, both of the smartphones will be up for sale from February 22, and it will be exclusively available on Flipkart.com, Mi.in and Mi Home.
