New broadcast signal for WTIM goes live

SULLIVAN (Heartland Newsfeed) — NewsTalk Wtim went live on their new FM signal at 107.7 FM in the city of Sullivan, according to a press release made available yesterday.

As previously covered, the Miller Media Group enacted plans to expand their coverage area to Moultrie County and cited a completion point during the summer following approval of a broadcast license from the Federal Communications Commission.

The expansion brings the station’s news, agriculture and talk programming to Moultrie County, with the signal being transmitted from a 140-foot tower in Sullivan.

It is not determined at this time whether a separate station studio will be established in Sullivan or if they’ll just utilize current studio resources at their secondary studios in Shelbyville.

In addition to 107.7 FM in Moultrie County, WTIM also broadcasts at 96.1 FM in Christian and Montgomery counties, 107.5 FM in Shelby County and at 870 AM across Central Illinois. WTIM — and their sister stations — also stream online via their Taylorville Daily News website, the WTIM app and Amazon Alexa.
