It’s gotta be nice having someone like Big Joe by your side.  Not only does Tiger Woods’ caddie keep calm and cool week in and week out alongside the GOAT, but this time he did something pretty heroic.

After the fan refused to leave, he told LaCava that if he wanted him gone, he would have to pay the fan the $25 he spent on a ticket. LaCava immediately reached into his wallet and gave the fan $25! But even after handing over the money, the fan refused to leave, which required LaCava to get him expelled from the tournament to the delight of other fans that applauded the action.

“He goes, ‘Well, if you give me the $25 I paid for a ticket today, I’ll leave.’ So I go, here’s $25,” LaCava explained during the Interview. When asked how Tiger felt about the whole situation, LaCava said that “He didn’t have a problem, And actually, I got a standing ovation for kicking the guy out of there.”

During the rest of the interview, LaCava talks about how he likes to joke with Tiger when they’re on the course. For example, he’ll walk behind Tiger and ask other players and caddies how the fairways are playing, making sure Woods can hear him. I can only imagine how Tiger felt about that during the PGA Championship when he couldn’t hit a fairway to save his life on the front 9.

Overall, the interview is a pretty good listen and provides an interesting insight into Tiger’s rounds from a first-hand account. I highly recommend listening to the whole thing if you have the opportunity.
