Rare Picture of "The Apoplectic Pencil"

The Atlanta Public Schools Cheating Scandal, which began in 2009, has taken an unlikely turn of events as accused teachers and administrators pin the blame on a bunch of rouge number three pencils, led by the notorious "The Apoplectic Pencil."

Former Superintendent Beverly Hall agreed that the only logical and plausible way post-exam changes in standardized tests could have happened is if, "number 3 pencils were inadvertently used."

Continuing her speech of rage, Ms. Hall stated, "I earnestly believe that these pencils came to life with a nefarious agenda to stain the good name of the Atlanta Public Schools. Plus, everyone knows that you can only use number 2 pencils on these tests!"

Hall has demanded that a grand jury open an investigation to prove, once and for all, that "The Apoplectic Pencil" lead the uprising and was solely responsible for correcting the plethora of erroneous answers on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT).

"As a society, we have got to start taking responsibility for our own actions.  As leaders, and educators, we must be roll models for the young students and lead by example," a impassioned Hall stated.  "This is why we can't take this laying down and let a unruly group of criminal pencils taint the good name of APS!"

"Who's with me in hunting down this 'Apple-plastic[sic] Pencil' and his army of rouge writing utensils?" Ms. Hall asked a room full of reports, as she was escorted to her private cell.

Asked if he agreed with former Superintendent Hall's theory, mayor Kasim Reed answered while shoveling snow from local interstates, "Totally! You can't trust anything that's yellow and doesn't taste like a banana."

"The Apoplectic Pencil" is still at large.  Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Atlanta Police Department.
