We’ve covered some great recipes for your Halloween party in previous posts but what about Halloween dinner? Sure, you can fill up on snacks and treats for everyone’s favorite holiday but if you’re looking for something a little more substantial for your Halloween Dinner, we’ve got you covered.

It’s easy to get creepy and creative with your halloween treats and Halloween dinner is no different. Whether you’re feeding a party or just your family, give this awesomely creepy snake sandwich recipe from My Recipes a shot! You’re halloween dinner won’t be complete without it!

Let’s start with what you’ll need to put together this slithering and delicious halloween dinner. You’ll need a few loaves of frozen bread, ½ cup of olive oil, two jars of roasted peppers, a handful of green, pimento-stuffed olives, three large pieces of celery, two cups black and green olives, ¼ cup capers, ½ teaspoon Red Pepper flakes, one pound of sliced prosciutto, three ounces arugula, three pounds of fresh mozzarella, and one large red pepper. It may seem like a hefty list of ingredients but it’s really no more than your average italian sandwich calls for.

Preparing this halloween dinner is super easy. First, start by covering a large pan with parchment paper and dust it lightly with cornmeal. This will keep your dough from sticking. Form the thawed dough in a curvy snake shape on the pan. Push two halves of the pimento-stuffed olives in the front of the loaf for eyes. Cut some V-shaped scales down the back of the loaf. Brush the loaf with some olive oil, cover the dough with some plastic wrap and let it rise for about an hour. While your dough is rising, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake the crust until it is golden, for about 40 minutes.

The hard part of your halloween dinner preparations are already over! Once your dough is cool, slice the loaf horizontally. Combine the roasted red peppers and the oil in the jar with a little bit of olive oil. Next, combine cut up pieces of celery, olives, capers, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl with more oil–this is your olive relish mix! Place the bottom half of your loaf on a tray with arugula on top of it. Above the arugula, layer prosciutto and mozzarella. Put the red pepper on top of the mozzarella. Spoon over the olive relish and replace the top loaf of the bred. The last step is to simply cut a tongue out of a red pepper and place it at the head.

Voila! Your halloween dinner is ready to eat! I recommend enjoying this delicious meal with a savory cocktail and a dose of halloween candy for dessert!
