How to Fight Back the Adverse Effects of BPA?

Bisphenol A or BPA has recently created a buzz in every consumer’s household. The main reason of this concern is how, according to experts, this industrial Chemical can pose health problems on the brain, prostate gland of toddlers, unborn children and babies, people’s behavior and even in blood pressure.

The chemical BPA is usually found in certain resins and plastics that are often used as a storage of food and beverages. Stuffs that often contain BPA are water bottles and food containers.

However, the Food and Drug Administration or FDA shared that according to their studies BPA does not always pose danger since exposure to very low levels are still considered safe. That is why it is crucial to control our intake of the chemical.

According to the experts, there are several ways to reduce our exposure to the chemical. How? We can do that by following these tips:

  1. Reduce the consumption of canned products. Experts say that canned products contains high levels of BPA since most of these cans have BPA-containing resin, which is installed to it upon production to ensure the longevity of the product. So by reducing our consumption can help decrease our exposure to the chemical.
  2. Avoid microwaving plastics. According to the National Institute of Environment Health Sciences, microwaving these plastics will eventually cause the plastic to break down over time. Once this happen, BPA inside these plastics will possibly leak to the food heated.
  3. Use alternatives. Using containers such as Stainless Steel, glass and porcelain is a great thing to do in ditching BPA. These stuffs might be more fragile as compared to plastic containers, but at least these containers will lessen the risks in one’s health no matter how hot the food is inside.
  4. Use products that does not contain BPA. Since BPA is already considered a risk in people’s health, more and more manufacturers are already producing products that are BPA-free. So it is important to understand that not all plastic can pose risk to our health. Some are already innovated to meet our needs without the danger of certain chemicals such as BPA. Consumers only have to look for the label that says ‘BPA-free’ and they are good to go.

Since people are already becoming more health-conscious, demands for products that are pro-health are rapidly increasing. That is why to complement and satisfy the demand, an increasing supply of these products are also offered in the market nowadays. One of these products that are BPA-free are these stainless steel water bottles.

I recently encountered this water bottle from an Australian online website called YrGear and I find it really cool. What I love about this product is that it is stainless, which gives an assurance that you can use it longer since it will never get rusty. Also because of the steel, it can help retain the temperature of the beverage inside. The bottle cost less than thirty bucks, which I considered a decent price for a high quality product. I am sure that with this stainless steel bottles, Australia is pretty proud since with this product their country is able to help spread good health among people all around the globe.
