STYLING A MINIMAL SQUARE LED LAMP IN MY SCANDINAVIAN HOME

Tags: lamp vesta style

During the Milan Design Week I was invited to preview the new Solid Lamp collection designed by Karim Rashid for Vesta at their launch party at the Manuel Ritz Showroom in via Solferino in Milan. This collaboration is a great mix of knowledge and beauty. Vesta is a company specializing in acrylic crystal processing that stands out for its expertise and technological know-how, while Rashid’s design touch brings elegance and appeal. With its organic shape, clean lines and minimal style, the Flots lamp from the collection caught my eye.

I was kindly sent a lamp for my home, and have chosen to style it as a bookend, taking advantage of the contrast of the square lamp that compliments my round Kähler vase in a nice way. The flat surface on the top is nice to utilize by having a little decorative object on, I have placed one of my Architectmade bird on it. The possibilities are endless, so I am looking forward to playing around with it more which you will probably see on my Instagram.

Solid is the name of the collection of lamps in acrylics which is crystal laser engraved and powered by LED, the result of the collaboration between Vesta and industrial designer Karim Rahsid. The lamps are available in four sizes, eight colors and two textures, ranging from 14.5 cm to 100 cm. All four different sizes have different purposes, and can be used as a normal lamp but also, for instance, a coffee table or a nightstand. Each of the products are handmade and folded in four points so that the material takes on the shape of a cube.

The cube-shaped lamp fits perfectly in with my Scandinavian style interior, and its unique shape creates many different styling options. The subtle texture of waves creates an interesting light play coming off it when turned on.

What do you think of the Solid lamp? How would you style it?
