Dehumidifying render mortars – Part 2/2

In response to the search for a proper solution to the problems caused by rising damp, Vimark Srl has developed intervention cycles with macroporous dehumidifying renders mortars that have obvious advantages: ready-to-use premixed products needing only water and a traditional cement mixer or a continuous mixer on site.

Cycles that are fast and easy to use where specific or specialized products are not required.
The Dehumidifying plasters have excellent breathability together with the possibility to apply different finishes, colourful if needed with various final appearances according to personal tastes or to follow specific directions dictated by design.

The cycles consist of the complete removal, whether manually or by machine, of deteriorated existing plaster and mortar that are not compatible with restoration cycles already present in the masonry, up to a height of about 1 meter above the line of evident moisture. When applying render/plaster the masonry must appear stable, healthy and consistent.
Wash all walls to be treated with restoration cycles for capillary rising damp before applying the specific saline isolating treatment by applying an anitsaline or anti salt filter. Apply antisalt roughcast in a single coat to cover the whole wall to be restored. Later proceed with application by hand or machine of restoration render/plaster making sure to apply a minimum thickness never less than 20mm. Level and finish the render mortar layer with an aluminium screed bar.

Leave the dehumidifying render/plaster to adequately dry before applying finishing products.
