A Cottage - Coastal Family Room - client project progression!

Hey guys, I thought it would be fun to share a client project progression today!  Many people who are considering hiring a Decorator always ask me "how does your process work"?

When I meet with a client we hone in on a specific room or two they are wanting to change or redo.  At this point I ask them what Style they are looking for, and how they want the room to function in their daily life.  So for this Family room below, my client said she was looking for a cottage - coastal style space with clean lines for her family room that was light and bright.  I was also inspired by her beautiful light wood floors.  And this was my first Design Board I emailed to her....

I was happy that my client really liked this first Design Board above.  But she had a few ideas of her own that she wanted to incorporate.  She wanted to use her favorite accent colors in navy blue and turquoise.  So I got busy and after a few more edits we had our Design finalized.  I think it's so much fun!

And here we are on delivery day!  Now this space obviously isn't finished.  Art still needs to be hung, lamps and accessories have been ordered.  But what a great start!  And my clients enjoy getting to visualize their space before the design process even begins.

So this is how I work here at The Collected Interior.  Communication between myself and my clients facilitates a well designed space that offers both style and function.  My goal is to design spaces that reflect my clients personalities.  And at an affordable price, yes this is budget decorating!
