Review 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Driving Impressions

The only engine on offer is a 2.5-litre diesel that produces 187bhp and a healthy-sounding 332lb ft of torque. Unfortunately, it disappoints in real-world driving because it feels weak low down and doesn’t like to be revved. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, while an automatic is available as an option on top-spec cars.

7 PREMIUM SEATS.
YES, 7

Best In Class Passenger Volume

Fill it up with seven passengers, and the Pathfinder still has room for up to 16 Cubic Feet of cargo[*]. Drop the 3rd-row and you’ve got more than 47 cubic feet, or drop both the 2nd- and 3rd- rows and you’ve got a virtually flat space with 79.8 cubic feet of cargo for your seriously big loads. There’s also a large under-floor storage area that keeps valuables out of sight. It’s easily accessed whether the 3rd-row is folded or upright, giving added cargo room even when you have seven passengers along for the ride.[*]

Safety

Standard safety features on the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder include antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags that cover all three rows of seats. Rear parking sensors and a rearview camera are standard on all Pathfinders except the base S, which can't get these items even as an option. The SL and Platinum come with a blind-spot warning system and rear cross-traffic alert, while the Platinum comes with a more deluxe surround-view camera system that is optional on the SL.
In government crash tests, the Pathfinder received five out of a possible five stars overall, with four stars for total frontal-impact protection and five stars for total side-impact protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safetyawarded the Pathfinder its highest score of "Good" in the moderate-overlap frontal-offset and side-impact crash tests.
