Flamingo and Pineapple Cupcakes

Flamingo and Pineapple Cupcakes can turn any party into a fun tropical party in seconds. These Cupcakes come together quickly and are so cute!

My mom has been Flamingo obsessed for the past 10 years or so. It started when a friend gave her a pink flamingo yard ornament as a gift and my mom actually put it in her yard. We all thought she was losing her mind.

Well what started out as one pink flamingo, ended up becoming a flock and we all started feeding her obsession by giving her random flamingo gifts.

When her birthday came around this year, my siblings and I thought it was only right to throw her a Flamingo Party fit for a queen.

While I was gathering supplies for the party, I went into Michaels and found a whole display dedicated to these pink feathered friends. I couldn’t help myself and before long, I was the proud owner of all things pink flamingo and pineapple. I bought these adorable Flamingo and Pineapple picks and knew just what I wanted to do.

For this project, I’m throwing it way back to the beginning of my mom’s flamingo obsession, by making Pink Flamingo yard cupcakes!

Here’s what you’ll need:

(I’ve linked to affiliates to make buying easier for you. You don’t spend anymore money but we make a small percentage off of what you spend.)

  • Flamingo Picks and Pineapple Picks, I got mine at Michaels
  • Cupcakes. I made chocolate cupcakes to represent the dirt, and baked them in green cupcake liners
  • Grass Tip – this may be my new favorite purchase!
  • I like to use the Icing Gel to get great colors for my icing and frosting. For this green color I used Leaf Green Icing Gel

To get started you’ll just need to make your chocolate cupcakes.

While those are baking, you can make the frosting. I just used a yummy butter cream frosting. Once the cupcakes have cooled you can start to decorate.

Add some frosting to a pipping bag with the Grass Tip attached. I found that if I touched the cupcake with the tip and then pulled up and slightly to the side, I could get some good looking grass. It was a lot of fun to watch these take shape.

We had so much fun with these at the party. I hope you enjoy them too!
