OSAT Don’t Go Breaking My Heart meets Ribbon of Courage

Oh, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart with this months One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop because I have a beautiful, heart themed card and wrapped chocolate bar for you this month! Heart Happiness paired with Ribbon of Courage play a key roll in this months projects that I’ve created for the OSAT blog Hop. So, since it’s the 2nd Thursday of the month, I invite you to hop along with the OSAT Blog Hop. This month’s theme is “Don’t Go Breaking my Heart!”

One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop

Don’t Go Breaking My Heart

Welcome back! I’m so glad to have you here and checking out my two projects. One of my favorite, but not often used, stamp sets is the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set. As a cancer survivor, I love the ribbons but this month I focused on the sentiments included with this set paired with the hearts from the Heart Happiness Stamp Set.

Project #1 – Live Laugh Love Ribbon of Courage Card

I just love this card! It’s actually a card I created for one of my recent card classes that I host at the Ugly Mug Bean & Brew located in Garner, NC. This little coffee shop is AMAZING! I highly recommend that if you are in the area to give me a shout so I can meet you at the Ugly Mug for a yummy coffee.

The card features some of my favorite, fun and bright colors. I’ve paired Melon Mambo with Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black. Then, I finished the card off with Basic Black Metallic Thread and Silver Mini Sequins. The stamp sets used are Ribbon of Courage for the Sentiment along with Heart Happiness and Petal Palette.

I’ve started with a Whisper White card front “splashed” with Melon Mambo ink. An easy technique is to use an Aqua Painter, pick up some ink then tap the Aqua Painter against your finger over your cardstock. I tell my class attendees to play around with holding the Aqua Painter either really close or further away from the paper for different splatters.

My background heart is stamped with Melon Mambo with Basic Black Metallic thread attached behind the heart and the heart is “popped” up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then stamped the sentiment and slightly offset the top heart. But, first, I added the Lemon Lime Twist Leaves behind the heart. I’ve also attached the Silver Mini Sequin behind one of the leaves. And, once these elements have all been added I attached the heart.

The final addition is the flower. I stamped the flower from the Petal Palette Stamp Set with Daffodil Delight then used the coordinating Petals & More Thinlits to die cut the flower. The flower is strategically placed the be framed along the right edge with the “Laugh and Love” from the sentiment. I think that was pretty ingenious.

So, there you have it… this is my Live, Laugh, Love Heart Themed card created for one of my Ugly Mug Cards-A-Latte Classes. But, perfectly suited for the OSAT – Don’t Go Breaking my Heart Blog Hop!

Project #2 – Love & Hugs Ribbon of Courage Chocolate Bar Belly Band

Valentines Day is just around the corner so we all need cute, quick ideas for Valentine Treats! I happened to have some Hershey Chocolate bars stashed away and decided this was the perfect 3D project. Lemon Lime Twist is one of my absolute favorite colors. It’s so bright and cheerful!

I’ve taken a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock and cut it down to the size I wanted for the wrap. The piece of cardstock measures 5″ x 5 – 3/4.” I scored along the 5 – 3/4″ side at the 1″ mark, 1 – 1/4″ mark, 3 – 1/2″ mark, then at 3 – 3/4″ mark. Wrapped the Lemon Lime around the candy bar and glued to the overlapping cardstock in the back.

If you look closely, you’ll noticed I added a second belly band with Whisper White Cardstock. I then stamped the sentiment from the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set using Smokey Slate. The sentiment was die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I love the stitched detail on these dies.

Next, I stamped the background heart with Lemon Lime Twist using a heart from the Heart Happiness Stamp Set then I stamped the floral heart from the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set with Flirty Flamingo Ink. Details that I’ve added include the Ombre Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon, Basic Black Mini Sequins and Basic Black Metallic Thread.

It was very quick to assemble the wrap. I made certain to layer the embellishments. Behind the sentiment, I’ve layered the ribbon and Basic Black Mini Sequins. Then, I added the Black Metallic Thread behind the top flower. Did you notice how I added a defined focal point with the floral heart?
