Dried Fruit Candy Bites

Years ago I worked with a woman from India. She introduced me to the flavors of her native country. These desert bites are perfect for holiday entertaining. The dried apricots I used are from B and R Farms which are grown on their farm in Hollister, California where I once resided.

                                           2/3  Cup Dried Grapes
                                           2/3  Cup Chopped Dried Apricots
                                           2/3  Cup Chopped Dried Plums
                                           1     Cup Whole Almonds
1     Tsp. Fresh Grated Lemon Peel
1     Tsp. Fresh Grated Orange Peel
                                          1/4   Tsp. Ground Cardamon
                                          1/4   Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
                                          1/16 Tsp. Ground Cloves

Combine ingredients in a food processor until the mixture holds together. Roll into 1 inch bites. Store as a single layer on a plate in the refrigerator until firm then they can be stacked. They will be edible for several weeks.

I describe the taste as rich and somewhat of a fruit cake/granola like taste. If you feel like experimenting vary the dried fruit.

If you happen to make the bites let me know what dried fruits you used and your thoughts on the taste. Thanks!

After the bites where chilled I twirled them in melted chocolate.
