I have talked to lots of Folks who shrug their shoulders when I talk about my belief in Father God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. They cock their heads to the side and sigh as they say “I wish I could have faith.” Well, everyone can, you just have to step up and try. When you take the first step towards the living God, He will take a step towards you. That’s how it works.
The Bible says in Romans 12:3 : “but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
So you do have a measure of faith. You may have tried to ignore it or other folks may have attempted to snuff it out. I can guarantee you that it is like a pilot light burning in your soul.
When it comes down to it you might have more faith that you thought. When folks drive down a two lane road they expect that the oncoming cars will not come in their lane. Now that’s faith in action! When a car actually does cross into oncoming traffic, what is the first words out of their mouth? “Oh my God!” That’s more proof of that pilot light deep within.
We are people born on a planet that spins in space! We have no control. We can’t control our circumstances or our purpose. We hunger for love, justice and peace. That is exactly what God is and is waiting to hand anyone who steps out in faith.
Every excuse or reason you use NOT to look up and tell God you will try… to step towards Him… will haunt you the rest of your life in eternity. Because we all continue after death. The believers will continue into eternal life and the unbelievers will continue into eternal death.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
“Try” isn’t only about reaching up in faith to God although that is what my heart wanted to share today.
“Try” is also meant to be encouragement. If you are stuck in circumstances and the way forward is uncertain and dark….I know you can do it!
