1. Preliminary work

For a start, we note that the installation will require the strength of at least two people. Before the assembly, you need to perform a number of preparatory work. They include, first of all, checking the completeness, the integrity of the kit, a careful reading of the instructions, and the wiring diagrams in the product passport.

In addition, you need to prepare the tools that will be required for the work. We are talking about various screwdrivers, trowels, wrenches, putty, skins for grinding the surface, as well as a cutter and a screwdriver. It’s also important to install the table on a flat floor surface. This is necessary in order to avoid skewing the billiard table.

2. Build a frame

Table frames differ from each other (depending on the model). Accordingly, the principle of assembly varies too. In that case, if the table is small, as a rule, it is delivered with an already assembled frame, which you just need to put on the legs.

The assembly of the billiard table should be carried out as shown in the instructions for the billiard table, which is written in the passport. In general, you need to install the screws of the supports in the legs of the table and place the frame on the so-called support cups.

Then it’s enough to fix the brackets. Ensure that a leg support is securely attached to the corners of the table.

Attention! Wood is a very capricious material and can crack under pressure, so you need to be very careful here.

3. Installing the playing field

After assembling the frame you need to proceed with the installation of the playing field. Observing the numbering, it’s necessary to lay out the slates one by one. It’s necessary to perform this work using a level, controlling the linearity of the field. You may insert shims underneath the tiles to raise or lower them, according to the leveler.  Fastening slates are carried out by screws.

4. Felting the Table and installing rails

You must first inspect the fabric for the presence of debris, excess threads and defects. Before felting, shake the cloth well. Then – lay it out on the top, stretching the fabric from the middle pocket to the corner. It is fastened with special brackets, and if we are talking about a new cloth, then you can see special holes on it, with the help of which it can be fixed. The main condition again is accuracy and patience. In order not to get unnecessary irregularities, use a construction stapler.

At the end of the installation, it’s necessary to install the rails. It is important to check their parallelism, level. Fixation is carried out with bolts or nuts.

Check your table’s owner’s manual to see how the pockets should be installed. Some models require you to staple them onto the bottom of the table, while others have screws that secure the pockets. The last step of the assembly of the billiard table – installation of decorative trim.

A typical pool table installation should take 1.5 – 2 hours. Antique tables take 2 – 3 hours.

As you can see, the assembly of the billiard table is a very scrupulous occupation, which requires certain skills, so it’s necessary to start installing the billiard table either with full confidence in your own abilities or to still give preference to companies that provide assembly services.
