WeSchool observes no Gadget Day, pays homage to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

‘Vachan Prerna Divas’ or Reading Day was celebrated on 15th October, 2018 to pay homage to our former President Dr. Apj Abdul Kalam who loved reading and writing. This day is observed so that people understand the importance of reading and are encouraged to develop it as a hobby.

The event was inaugurated by the group director Dr. Uday Salunkhe, wherein he addressed the gathering to read and share the knowledge. Prof. Dr. V H Iyer enlightened us with a sanskrit shloka;

“Buddhim Dehi Yasho Dehi Kavithwam Dehi Dehime

Moodthawamcha Harre Devi Thrahimam Sarangatham”

It means ‘Give me the Intellect, Give me the Courage, Give me the Wisdom, to learn all that, I should learn from the ever changing environment. Drive away my Difference, Drive away my negativity, and in that process, make me worthy of Thee’

The various activities organized by Weschool to celebrate Vachan Prerna Divas:-

  • WeSchool observed this day as ‘No gadget day’, wherein students, faculty and staff will be urged not to use any form of social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and instead, read books.
  • A Book Exhibition was organized wherein books by and on Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam were displayed along with book display of various indian and foreign authors on assorted subjects like marketing, start-up, innovation, HR etc.
