Amid the unstoppable barrage of question paper leaks during the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) this year, the Government has decided to only have Creative questions from now on for the Primary Education Completion (PEC) examinations.
The Pec Exams will consist of 100% creative and competency-based questions from this year. The National Academy for Primary Examination (NAPE) on Sunday issued a notice in this regard.
On February 12, State Minister for Education Kazi Keramat Ali said the government was planning to scrap multiple choice questions (MCQs) in public exams in phases.
“MCQs will be scrapped in phases. Then there will be no chance of question leaks,” he said at the parliament. The structure of PEC creative questions and mark distribution was finalized at a national workshop and as per the ministry’s decision. The competency-base questions will be formulated for each subject, the notice said.
In 2017, the PEC exam was held with 80% competency-based questions while it was 65% in 2016.
