A Beginner’s Guide to Med Prep programs Schools

Getting into a med Prep Program school is not that difficult as students mostly feel. A few simple steps and one can get through it. Lets see what can make a student sail through it

  • Basic requirements

There are few basic requirements to be completed before you start applying for Medical colleges

  1. One year of Biology with lab.
  2. One year of General Chemistry with lab.
  3. One year of Organic Chemistry with lab.
  4. One year of Physics with lab.
  5. One year of English

These are the subjects that make you will be eligible for an admission in med prep program and appear for Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). So make sure you are opting these subjects to get through

  • Maintaining grades

The CGPA should be high to crack a good medical program. Of all the subjects mentioned in the above section , scoring high marks will make things easier for the student. No matter what other subjects you choose, the score for Physics, Chemistry , Maths and Biology will be separated out and the GPA will be calculated for that also. So keep in mind to perform med prep programs.

  • Hands on work experience

It will be an added advantage if you have some experience of working in a clinic or under any medical practitioner. It is often treated as the unspoken requirement. Applying the things you have learned in your biology classes and lab in a real scenario will not only enhance and widen your experience and concepts about this field but will also give you a glimpse of the life you will go through in the future. What’s more, it shows your interest and passion towards a medical program which can work in your favor while your application is being reviewed.

Generally, the admission criteria remain same for US and European universities apart from the fact that in US, the medical degree is a second entry degree which means, direct enrollment to a medical degree is not possible. First a four year Bachelor’s degree is needed to get into that. And following these simple steps can make your dreams come true.
