A lot of students find so much value out of USMLE video lectures. Here are ways you can use them to improve your performance.
- Take the lectures seriously
If video lectures are your only mode of learning from experts, allocate time, take them seriously and approach them, as you would do an actual teaching session. This will ensure you get the maximum benefit out of them.
- Use the pause/rewind buttons to the maximum
The advantage with such video lectures is that you can listen to the video as many times as you want. This is not possible in a live lecture where you might miss out few points if you are distracted. Rewind for clarity or pause when you want to take down notes.
- Make a schedule to watch these videos
It is important you watch videos along with other modes of preparation. Listen to a video Topic, follow it up with studying on it and solve a few sample questions from it to seal your knowledge.
- Refresh your memory by quick streaming of video lectures
During your entire preparation phase, taking the time to refresh old topics is important. You can use Usmle step 1 videos to quickly skim through topics and drill home key words and concepts.
Most students respond better visually than reading through hours of notes. For such people, video lectures are a great investment. Use them regularly and up your game in the final USMLE step 1 examination.
