Wresting fans are still debating whether the professional wrestler has been using steroids before he made it big in the WWE. Opinions are actually divided with some fans stating that Cena has been working out since he was 12 years old – hence his impressive frame. Others however are not convinced, citing that it’s impossible to bulk up by that much without the help of steroids. The doubt coming from most people isn’t really surprising considering Cena’s unnatural size and thickness which seems to be only achievable through steroids.

A documentary made by CNN Special Investigations Unit titled “Death Grip: Inside Pro Wresting” focused on wrestlers, bodybuilding and steroidsuse. In this, John Cena was asked point blank if he was using or have used steroids. The answer for this was conflicting due to edits in the documentary. In the first release of the documentary, Cena was caught implying that he has used steroids although it would be hard for others to prove it. In the original video however, it was shown that the wrestler answered the question with a negative. Even if he is using drugs however, chances are this was done in the past and no longer continuing in the present.
Steroid Use in Athletes
The use of steroids by professional athletes and celebrities seem to be more common these days, but this is greatly discouraged by numerous authorities. In fact, authorities are now levying fine and jail-time for anyone who is using steroids without the necessary prescription. Not only are these performance Enhancing Drugs considered cheating by many, they could also have adverse effects to the body. Large amounts of the substance can mess up the kidneys and cause hormonal imbalance in the body. They can also increase the risk of blood clots which can result to early strokes and ultimately, problems in the heart. This is why everyone – not just athletes – is encouraged to take the natural, slower but infinitely healthier route to a well-toned physique.
