What is Your Medicine?

Was watching Eat, Pray, Love the other night
and stumbled upon an interesting topic for today.

Quick side note: there are gorgeous shots of Rome,
India and Bali in this flick. If you love to travel, you will dig it.

Anyway, early on Julia Robert’s character
travels to Italy and learns the language.

Over dinner, her language instructor
teaches her different words.  During their conversation,
her depressed self speaks up, “I have a word
for you.”  She holds up her glass of wine and says, “therapy.”

Funny. I get it.

Right here would be a good place to
go into why alcohol, chew, cigarettes, and food
are really bad “medicine” for the blues.

But I wont.

Instead, I’ll focus on other types of “medicine”
to get you out of your slump.

Reading, writing, painting, drawing,
exercise, meditation and other hobbies are extremely
therapeutic and more productive.

They improve your overall well being and expand your mind.
Take exercise for instance.  This is an excellent form of
therapy. For one you can clear your head.  And two, you take
all the negative energy and turn it into fat burning juice.

You make yourself thinner, sexier, healthier
and happier person.

Now is drinking alcohol forbidden
in my world? No. I enjoy a drink from time to time.
But I sip a couple to celebrate not commiserate. :~)

When it gets into the label of THERAPY, you may
select another item from the productive therapeutic group.

Combining one or more items is
even better therapy, like say meditation and exercise.
What I teach in Triple Your Endurance is a form
of this.  And it also leads to more endurance in
long distance races but also more endurance in the bedroom.
