Nine years ago we had a son. We named him Ethan.
We Dressed him in Christmas jammies.
We kissed his feet while we changed his diaper.
We dressed him up for his grandparents.
We watched in awe while he slept.
I was 26.
I'm still 26. I'm not sure what happened to him. I think I Blinked. Because today, he's nine.
When he smiles, the world smiles back.
When he is determined, we all watch and wait in eager anticipation.
When he gets goofy, we erupt in giggles.
I love my Ethan. But I don't think I'll blink. Ever again.
