Diabetics’(1-Type) Eye Care - Use Saline Solution

Advice on Diabetes - Use Saline Solution

There is a theory that using saline solution often is not good to the eye. But in my case, I tend to use the saline solution more often.

Whenever I have an eye fever or after I take a bath, I rinse my eyes with saline solution. Not just one drop or two, I put it in repetitive times as many as for saline solution to run down the cheeks. Usually more than a time a day, I do. (Since 2004, I have been striving not to lose my eyesight by administering less-stimulative eye lotion a few times a day in place of diminishing the times of using saline solution.)

To be frank, there is no better medicine than naturally-runny tears.
Even though I wish to have runny eyes, it is not easy to have tears whether due to age or lack of sensibility. As the last resort, there have been times when I have my eyes runny depending upon listening to some touching stories introduced briefly on the radio or watching some astounding life stories by subject persons of the KBS TV program ‘Request of Love.’ Occasionally, shedding tears may be the best restorative in body health – especially managing eyes - as well as in mental health.

Though I often use the expression ‘as time goes by,’ my body function is growing more and more vulnerable, degenerative, weakening, and worse as time goes by. Eyes are where it is much easier to be growing vulnerable, degenerative, weakening and worse, compared with other parts of the body.

These days, even the volatile smell in each corner of a construction site is causing my eyes and skin and throat to be hurt and smart.
Even the fabric softener I use washing is hurting my eyes.

There are many cases that the fabric softener causes other diabetic patients to have already gone blind before they could feel the symptom of even their eyes as well as skin being smart, stinging or hurt. These days, I use the baby fabric softener that is used for washing diapers or the fabric softener for delicate skin.

Using the fabric softener, I take the sequence of washing clothes in a different way. In usual homes, they use fabric softener in the last turn while washing clothes. But in my case (since 2002), by putting fabric softener and a moderate amount of vinegar at once right before the last turn, I rinse after rinse.

Putting some vinegar in while rinsing is for the sake of using the ‘neutralization’ of vinegar to neutralize toxic detergent. One more rinsing after rinsing after putting fabric softener and vinegar in is one of the ways to avoid stimulative eyes by minimizing bad smell of fabric softener and to protect skin by minimizing the remaining amount of detergent and fabric softener in the washed clothes.
If my eyesight and skin grow more vulnerable, weaker and worse than now, then I think I should use no detergent washing machine even if oil dirt might be left over in washed clothes.

The reality is, even the diabetics who don’t watch books and newspapers because of their more vulnerable, weaker, sorer and more painful eyes are exposed to living their lives that are subject to the lights like TV and computer, cars, fluorescent lamp and others.

As eyesight goes seriously weaker in later time, opening the eyes itself day or night is already all stimulation. For the sake of the eyes tired due to all day stimulation, I wish patients would look for how to alleviate theirs in their own ways.

Today’s idleness of mine might go past the point of no return forever. Keep in mind that this applies to not only seriously ill Type-I diabetics but also to entire diabetics.
