The patient must get away from carbonated drinks, dairy products, milk, chick peas, beans, black lentils, raw vegetables, white flour and spices. Also, he must restrict the consumption of a diet rich in fiber. Citrus fruits, dried fruits or fruits having seeds in them should also be avoided strictly. However, the patient must have a lot of juice and water daily. Herbal teas are also recommended. Banana, pumpkin, yogurt, bottle gourd, juice of rose petals and green grass are absolutely important to treat ulcerative Colitis. Also, consumption of alcohol is strictly avoided for the patients suffering from Ulcerative Colitis. Also, drinking the water soaked with fennel seeds overnight is recommended for the patients to have a proper bowel movement. Besides, there are certain herbs and herbal treatments available as well to provide relief from this disorder to a huge extent.
