Monday Motivation – August 14th

This book: Patrick Fong – Extremes is an interesting look into the the limits of what the human body can tolerate. Dr Fong explores how our body responds when tested by the extremes of heat and cold, vacuum and altitude, age and disease.

I didn’t know who Doc Fong was until I listened to his interview with Kirsty Young. You can also watch him on BBC Horizons.

Alcohol: It surprised me the other day when I looked up what is the recommended weekly alcohol intake in the UK. The answer is 14 units (thats 6 pints or 6 175m glasses of wine.  Why not start an alcohol book to measure your intake? Or download any of these apps. First measure, then set out to improve.

Amazing challenges: Scotland’s Mark Beaumonts is half way through his attempted lap of the globe in 80 days via bicycle, he’s just passed through Brisbane, Australia – check out his progress on the live tracker here.

Summer social: We pitched up, we putted and we had a great time. Thanks so much for everyone who came along to play, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Keep your eyes peeled for our next social, details to be announced soon.

Goodbyes: Last week we said a very fond farewell to Laura Hicks after 2.5 years working at Putney Chiropractic. A huge personal thanks to Laura from me for all her hard work and we’re all wishing you the best of luck in your new career as a photographer. Laura, we’ll miss you!
