Top 10 Instant Pot Accessories You Need

Are you hooked on your new Instant Pot?

I’ve had mine for nearly a year now, and it’s hands-down my favorite kitchen appliance. We used it 2-3 times a week. I’ve got a bunch of delicious, gluten-free Instant Pot recipes you can easily make tonight.

And if you’re looking for an Instant Pot, here’s the one that I got. What I love about the Instant Pot is that it’s a 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Cooker – including a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, saute/browning, yogurt maker, steamer and warmer. Plus, it has a stainless steel cooking pot and steam rack – LOVE that! I have literally gotten rid of my old slow cooker and yogurt maker because I can do it all with the Instant Pot.

Okay, so once you start using your Instant Pot, you’ll realize there’s a lot of accessories you’ll need to make pressure cooking even easier. I’ve rounded up my top 10+ Instant Pot Accessories you need.

Where to Get Kitchen Pantry Essentials

Before I share my favorite Instant Pot accessories, I wanted to let you know about my one of my favorite real food secrets: Thrive Market: it’s like Whole Foods meets Costco. I get my cooking and pantry supplies like baking soda, baking powder, vanilla extract, etc. and it’s way cheaper than Amazon or the health food store usually.

Organic vanilla extract, for instance, is about $5 at my local health food store and $5.30 on Amazon. But it’s only $3.95 (YES!) on Thrive Market. Great deal right? And the raw honey?! Don’t even get me started how much that costs at the health food store. But on Thrive Market it’s just $5.45 for a 10.5 oz jar of raw honey.

Top 10 Instant Pot Accessories You Need

1. Sweet and Savory Sealing Rings

This might literally be the best thing since sliced bread… TWO different sealing rings for the Instant Pot so you can use one for savory recipes (like bone broth) and one for sweet treat (like cheesecake). Trust me, you’ll want at least one extra sealing ring. Why? If you make bone broth or beef/chicken stock in your Instant Pot, you’ll find that the ring will take on the aroma of the stock. It’s fine if you’re cooking savory dishes. But once you make a cheesecake with a ring that’s been used with beef stock? Yep, the cheesecake may have a funky flavor.

I like this set because it’s easy to differentiate one for savor and one for sweet dishes. And while you could clean that savory ring with vinegar or essential oils, the aroma of bone broth is tough to take out. So just get a second ring or this handy two-ring sweet and savory sealing ring set to make it easy.

2. Stainless Steel Inner Pot 6-Quart

Your Instant Pot already came with a stainless steel pot, so why get another one? It’s HUGE when you’ve got a pot of hot food in one and want to cook something rice or steamed vegetables without having to clean the first one out. You can also use one pot for leftovers and have an extra pot on hand. WIN!

3. Instant Pot Silicone Lid

Got leftovers in your Instant Pot? You can put this silicone, air-tight lid on the inner steel pot and store those leftovers in the refrigerator. No extra containers and no mess transferring meals. This is perfect when you have a meal to take to a party or potluck too. Plus, this lid is dishwasher safe.

4. Instant Pot Glass Lid

Did you know you can use this glass lid on your Instant Pot? It’s perfect when you’re using the slow cooker setting, keeping food warm or storing leftovers in the refrigerator.

5. Stainless Steel Steamer

Love steamed veggies or fish? Make them in the Instant Pot with this awesome stainless steel mesh basket. It works great to steam veggies and strain without having to scoop anything out.

6. Instant Pot Silicone Starter Kit

Who’s new to the Instant Pot? This is an awesome starter kit that has some of the best accessories you’ll need.

Here’s what’s included: mini mitts (so you don’t burn your hands getting the inner pot out), sealing lid (to keep your food hot after it’s done), and pot holder (to put on the table when you serve to your family – just pout the inner pot directly on it).

7. Silicone Gloves

Never burn your hands again trying to take out the inner stainless steel pot from the Instant Pot. Use these hands silicone gloves that are heat resistant and waterproof. You can use them for BBQ grilling, oven baking and so much more too.

8. Pot Gripper / Retriever Tongs

There’s no question – these Retriever Tongs are a must-have for anyone with an Instant Pot. You can use them to take out the inner pot without burning your hands or removing hot pans with the Pot-in-Pot (PIP) method.

9. Springform Pan – 7-Inch

Did you know you can make a cheesecake in the Instant Pot? YES! You can. You’ll need a the springform pan that fits in the Instant Pot. It will come out so moist and delicious. Here’s an easy recipe you can follow to make the most perfect cheesecake in the Instant Pot. Who’s ready to make some cheesecake?

10. Stainless Steel Rack Stand

Have you ventured into Pot-in-Pot (PIP) recipes yet? Basically, it allows you to cook dishes that don’t have liquid with the steam from pressure cooking. For instance, you can use this rack stand and a springform pan to cook cheesecake in the Instant Pot. You’d add the liquid to the bottom of the pot and then put the springform (with the cheesecake in it) on the rack stand.

Believe me, once you make a cheesecake in the Instant Pot you may never go back to making it in the oven again. It’s so easy to do and portable since you can take the Instant Pot on the go.
