What can I do to fix an overstretched or split earlobe?

Ear lobe expanders have become an increasingly popular form of a body modification over the years, and while they can definitely be a great form of self-expression, sometimes people want to reverse the process. It’s also possible for earlobes to become damaged and torn accidentally and this is something that we can help with too.

On the blog today we’re going to show you what exactly happens in an Earlobe Repair procedure and how we at Snowberry Lane Clinic can help. Our earlobe repair surgery for both split and stretched earlobes is a minor Radio Surgery procedure, where the excess tissue is removed, and the two splits are carefully stitched back together using very fine dissolvable stitches. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and takes between 20 – 30 minutes per ear, meaning that you will be able to walk out of the clinic and resume normal activities on the same day. Please note that stretched ear lobes can take a little longer depending on the size and complexity of the hole to be repaired.

On average ear lobe repairs will need 6 months to heal, and there may be some small scarring on your ear, that will fade in appearance over time. For more information click here or give us a call on 01225 700072.
