Wellness Trends in 2019

#Self-care was the most used hashtag on Instagram in 2018. In fact, meditation is the new buzzword in fitness circuits, as it keeps the mind fit and healthy!

Top Wellness Trends 2019

1) Brain health takes center stage

Meditation, Foods for healthy brain, Bio-hacking and Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP); will take a front seat in driving Wellness and healthy living.

2) Sleeping well is a priority

Our generation is facing a Sleep crisis. Thus, there are apps to track and provide feedback about your sleep. There are pillows infused with aroma therapy to help you sleep well. There are sleep meditations, music, lighting and what not. Just in the pursuit of enough sleep and recovery.

3) Recovery gadgets

In 2018,  TheraGun, a pricey handheld massage machine developed by a chiropractor. Which became the tool to help people recover like the pros. From Michael Phelps, Kyrie Irving (NBA) to Ashley Graham; more and more people are swearing by the TheraGun.

Research continues to affirm that massage therapy helps improve muscle performance and increase range of motion. In fact health centers continue adding features like cryotherapy, float tanks and infrared saunas for recovery of the body.

4) Ayurveda: Global homecoming

India has been using Ayurveda (5000-year-old holistic health system) forever. In the last two years Ghee, turmeric, Khichdi, became global super foods. People are learning to eat as per the Ayurvedic Dosha system. Also, people are spending more than ever on wellness vacations in India! It’s time Ayurveda earned global recognition.

5) Adaptogens Go Mainstream

Drawing from Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine, adaptogens are a trendy class of natural health products. They help control the stress response through hormonal regulation. In 2019, they will make their mainstream debut.

P.S: Remember, our mothers and grand mothers told us to eat one spoon of In chawanprash, ashwagandha every day. But, we substituted western super foods and super pills. And now these adaptogens are being pursued by the entire world. 

6) Fill Your Cup With Cannabidiol (CBD)

With 10 U.S. states, Washington D.C., Canada, and Uruguay launching regulated recreational marijuana markets. It’s not surprising that CBD make its way into food markets. As, CBD has the potential to improve sleep, digestion, pain-stress-relief.

7) CBD Oil Being Hawked As the Super-Cure

As of 2018, hemp oil has demonstrated  anti-inflammatory, anti-pain, anti-seizure and anti-anxiety properties. In the coming years the scientists think that CBD will be the revolutionary medication for numerous disease.
