The STD Project Stands with You, You, You, and You Too

While The STD Project holds no political affiliation, and we are not formally aligned with any organization, other than those already listed on our about page, we think it’s imperative we make our motives clear. This site is intend for everyone, and we do not discriminate.

Literally, Anyone

Anyone who has experience with a sexually transmitted infection or disease or anyone who wants to learn more about STIs and STDs is welcome here. Literally, anyone. We hold no formal partisan beliefs, but we do uphold what we believe to be a basic human right: the right to empathetic, Inclusive, and comprehensive Sexual Health Education and care.

Throughout this site, we hope you find that we do our very best to provide fact-based and relevant material that is free from racism, sexism, classism, ableism, anti-Semitism, ageism, and heterosexism. Are you gay? Welcome. Are you elderly? Welcome. Are you Jewish? Welcome. Are you differently-abled? Welcome. Are you non-binary? Welcome. Are you brown? Welcome. You get the point.

And if you didn’t answer yes to any of those questions, also, welcome.

Improving Our Content

However, we are continually learning and developing our content to be more inclusive. It’s not perfect, and if we do this right (growing, learning, changing), it won’t ever be. But we’re ok with that. As long as you know, whether traditional or non-traditional, right or left, devout or secular, brown or white, old or young, hetero or LGBTQ, rollin in the Benjamins or pinching pennies, etc, etc, you’re welcome here. This is a safe space, and we avow to keep it that way by continually improving our content and working to make our site more inclusive and more accessible.

A note to our minorities: we see you and we support you. We see how you are adversely affected by many things including, but not limited to, rising STI rates, and we want to help alleviate that burden. We think we can do that by encouraging accurate, comprehensive, and inclusive sexual Health Education. We might never be able to address all of the socio-economic factors that contribute to the health inequalities in your communities, but we have to start somewhere.

Lastly, as we continue to strive to provide a comprehensive, empathetic, accurate, and empowering resource, we want to hear from you. We cannot effectively tackle STD stigma without understanding how it has impacted your life. So please reach out to us often.

Share your story with us, or share this resource within your network. Every little bit of effort helps.
